Important Information

Dear students,

I hope this message finds you well. I'm writing to inform you that this Friday, October 20th, the JGM campus will be closing its facilities at 2:00 PM. This closure is due to the Panamerican Games' inauguration at the National Stadium, which will lead to road closures and traffic disruptions around our campus.

As a result, our class will be held online. To participate, you will need access to a microphone and audio. While having your camera on won't be mandatory, there will be instances where using it will make exercises more comfortable.

I will send you the class link via U-Cursos a few minutes before the scheduled start time. I kindly request that you connect using the link provided by email, as this will help us record attendance through the platform.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Let's make the most of our online session. Have a great day!

Best regards,

Professor Masías O.

Dear students,   I hope this message finds you well.

In today's class, we worked on vocabulary exercises related to parts of the human body and common illnesses. You can find the material in the "Material Docente" section of the U-Cursos platform.

We collaborated on these exercises, focusing on pronunciation and explored the Present Perfect tense conjugations. If any student requires additional support with this topic, please refer to the book "English Grammar in Use," Units 10 to 20. You can access the book with answers at this link: [English Grammar in Use](ia600105.us.archive.org/ ... by%20R.%20Murphy.pdf)     Following that, we started Unit 4 of "Food and Health," which aims to help you describe various dishes, food characteristics and flavors, colors and textures, and express your preferences for food. It will also cover vocabulary related to food and meals, the use of quantifiers (some vs. any), countable and uncountable nouns, and speaking practice. (You can access the materials for this unit on U-Cursos.)   Looking ahead, next Friday, we will be working on the Mini Report. It's essential to review how to construct and respond to simple questions. Additionally, I've posted a document titled "risk_and_danger_Practical_Exercises_Week_8__04-10" on the platform. This document contains individual reading exercises related to risk and danger, and it's important that you complete it before the next class.   If you have any questions or need further clarification on any of the topics we covered today, please feel free to reach out to me. Have a productive week, and I look forward to our next class.   Best regards,   Professor Jordán Masías O.

Hello everyone,

I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to provide a recap of what we covered in our last class on Monday:

1. During our session, we practiced exercises that centered around verbs related to activities commonly undertaken during the weekend. Our primary goal was to facilitate discussions related to making plans and arrangements for future activities.

2. We also revisited some important aspects of English grammar, including the simple present and present continuous tenses. Furthermore, we got into a more detailed exploration of the semantic distinctions between "will" and "going to" when expressing future actions. It's crucial to grasp how these choices can affect the way we communicate.

3. To wrap up the class, we devoted some time to preparing for email writing. If you need more guidance and extra practice on this topic, you can access a PowerPoint presentation in the "Material Docente" section.

Lastly, a reminder that our Continuous Assessment for email writing 1 is scheduled for next Friday, the 29th. Please make sure to prepare for this assessment.

Looking forward to our next class!

Professor Masías
