Class Ssummaries

Dear Students,

I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to provide you with a summary of our last class and some important reminders regarding upcoming assignments.

During our last session, we began by discussing the feedback from the recent evaluations and went over the corrections for our writing tests. We then reviewed the results of the assigned homework together, complemented by dynamic online activities to practice more with narrative sentences. These activities included exercises in oral production and idiomatic modulation, focusing on the chronological details of events in a narration and integrating all the content we have covered so far this semester; You can find the material in both the "Material Docente" and "Enlaces" sections of the U-Cursos platform.

In the second part of the class, we changed the type of activities and engaged in an extensive listening comprehension exercise. We listened to a famous rapper sharing anecdotes and insights about his art.

Towards the end of our session, we conducted a group reading comprehension activity on Campbell's poem "Iguana," stimulating an interesting discussion about the preservation of ancestral values through contemporary Anglo-Saxon art and literature.

Finally, we concluded by giving instructions for the "Video Talk" activity, where you will record a 2-3 minute video on the topic of "An activity you like to do in your free time." This activity constitutes 10% of your final grade for the course. You can find the instructions in the "Tareas" section of the platform, and the deadline for submission is May 14th at 2:30 PM.

Please note that submissions must be made through the platform, and deadline extensions will not be granted unless requested with appropriate justification through official channels. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to me.

Keep up the great work!

I look forwar to our next sesssion.

Best regards,

Professor Masías O.

Class Summaries

Dear Students,

I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to summarize the content covered in our recent classes and provide an update on our evaluation progress.

In our last sessions, we explored various topics related to language skills and comprehension. During the first part of the class, we focused on vocabulary activities related to travel. We engaged in two integrated activities, one focusing on listening comprehension and the other on speaking production. These activities aimed to enhance your language skills in real-life scenarios.

Following this, we shifted our focus to a reading comprehension activity centered around advice for cyclists in Santiago. This allowed us to explore practical language use while also discussing important safety tips for cyclists navigating the city.

In our second session, we conducted the first continuous evaluation test for writing. This assessment provided an opportunity for you to demonstrate your writing skills and apply the concepts we've covered in class.

Additionally, I want to remind you that the material for our next session is available in the "Material Docente" and "Enlaces" sections of the U-Cursos platform.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns about the material covered or the evaluation process, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Best regards,

Professor Jordán Masías O.

Class Summaries

Dear students,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to provide a brief recap of our last class and remind you of an important upcoming evaluation.

Last week, we thoroughly reviewed the assigned homework, and I was able to provide personalized feedback to all those who completed the activity. Following that, we concentrated on studying expressions and vocabulary related to travel situations, marking the beginning of our new unit titled "Places to Stay." Additionally, we focused on vocabulary, common phrases, and formalities in email writing.

I would like to remind you that during our second session this week, we will be conducting the evaluation for Continuous Assessment 1, which accounts for 5% of the final semester grade. Please remember to bring writing materials (e.g., graphite and ink pens, correction fluid, eraser, and sufficient paper).

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the evaluation or any other class-related matters, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Looking forward to another productive session together!

Best regards,

Class Ssummaries

Dear Students,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to give you a quick recap of what we covered in our class this past week.

We started off by reviewing the homework assignment and providing feedback. It was great to see everyone's efforts and address any questions or concerns you had.

Our focus then shifted to discussing city situations, where we explored and reviewed vocabulary related to transportation, types of housing, urban architecture, street facilities, directions, and traffic. We then concentrated on putting this vocabulary into context by examining various situations and examples.

Afterwards, we engaged in a discussion about paragraph construction and composition. We utilized online and collaborative exercises to practice and enhance our skills in this area.

As a reminder, a homework assignment has been posted on the platform for you to complete. You can find all the materials on U-Cursos, both in the "Links" and "Course Materials" sections.

Additionally, for autonomous practice, a homework assignment has been published on the platform as well.

If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don't hesitate to reach out. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to seeing you in our next class.

Best regards,

Prof. Jordán Masías O.
