Hi everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well!
This week, we kicked things off with some practical speaking exercises. We worked on answering exam-style questions, focusing on how to structure your responses and keep an eye on timing. We had fun describing different parts of the city, landmarks, and even role-playing scenarios you might encounter on public transport. I shared some model answers that really stood out, and everyone received some feedback on their speaking.
Just a heads-up, we agreed that we’ll review the homework and I’ll give you feedback in our next session on Thursday.
I’ve shared a fun Quizizz activity to help you get a better grasp on "if-clauses" as they relate to Units 1 and 2. It’s a great way to reinforce what we’ve been learning.
In our second session, we briefly delved into aspects of punctuation and capitalization in English, working through several exercises. This was aimed at helping you develop the following skills:
- Being able to talk about places to go and things to do, make arrangements, etc.
- Use of the first conditional.
- Use of relative clauses: who, which, that, whose.
- Rules of basic punctuation and spelling (capitalization).
If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Finally, I’ve posted some optional homework that sums up the vocabulary and grammar from Unit 1. It’s not graded or mandatory, but I definitely encourage you to give it a try.
Take care,
Prof. Jordán Masías O.
