During our third week of classes, we reviewed key aspects of the unit and concluded with the final evaluated activity. Through various reading and writing exercises, we developed and consolidated skills such as:
- Describing yourself and people, places, and things in your life
- Recognizing text types (genres)
- Expressing purpose and expectations
- Writing a brief academic bio
- Describing objects, possessions, products
- Giving personal details
- Interacting with university administration
- Wellbeing on campus: asking for advice and giving suggestions

Hello everyone,
I hope you are doing well.
During last week’s classes, we covered Lessons 1 and 2 of Unit 1. Which has a main goals, the following:
- Listen for details and general ideas.
- Recognize different types of texts.
- Describe people’s everyday lives and where things or people are.
- Talk about a lost item in a telephone conversation. Giving opinionsss and recommendations
- practice writing a short bio and use phrases like "should," "need to," or "have to" to express needs, and "because" or "so" to give reasons. It’s okay if there are some mistakes, as long as the message is clear.
The materials can be found in Material Docente (Week 2) I have also shared Grammar Supplements for your reference. I encourage everyone to go through these short, illustrative, and practical handouts.As stated in class, next class we will start with the assessed practice of Unit 1. This includes a practical lesson with explanations and feedback on your performance. In our second lesson, we will complete the final assessed activity, which will end with a mark worth 7.5%.
All of these sessions are practical, so I invite you to attend the classes. If you have any questions, please get in touch.

Dear Students,
I hope this message finds you all well and in great spirits!
First of all, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to each and every one of you for reaching this important milestone in your language-learning journey. Welcome to English II, corresponding to the A2 level of the CEFR. I am Jordán Masías O., and I will be your lanuage-learning-guide as we explore and improve your English skills together.
I’m excited to confirm that our course will officially begin on Monday, August 12th. Our classes will take place on:
- Mondays at 12:00 pm, in room Aulario C1,
- and Fridays, at 14:30 in room Luis Durán (FCEI).
Materials:
The materials for our first classes are now available in the course materials section. You are welcome to bring the handouts printed, or alternatively, you can use your electronic devices (e.g., tablets, cellphones, etc.). This will be the procedure throughout the semester.
Remember, every step you take in learning a language brings you closer to new opportunities and experiences. Let’s make this course an inspiring and rewarding journey!
