Class 1 (March 21st)
Objective: Introduce each other and the course syllabus.
Activities:
1- Introduction to the course.
2- Reading of the course syllabus and schedule.
3- Assessment of prior knowledge.
4- Oral presentation and interaction activity.

Class 2 (March 26th)
Objective: Learn what a biodata is and write your own.
Activities:
1- Complete "Bio Data activity" 
2- Read the "Bio Data Marking Rubric"

Class 3 (March 28th)
Cancelled due to suspension of activities.

Class 4 (April 2nd)
Objective: Learn what an elevator speech is.
Activities:
1- Complete the "Class 4-Elevator Speech Workshop: Crafting Your Professional Pitch" handout.


Class 5 (April 4th)
Objective: Craft your elevator pitch.
Activities:
1- Complete the 'Personal Elevator Pitch Listening Activity' handout and outline your elevator pitch.


Class 6 (April 9th)
Objective: Write your elevator speech/pitch:
Activities:
1- Complete the 'English_5_elevator_speech' handout.

2- Write your elevator speech based on the instructions and rubric.

Class 7 (April 11th)
Objective: Learn the structure of an essay.
Activities:

1- Complete the worksheet ‘Parts of an essay’.



Class 8 (April 16th)
Objective: Learn about different styles of essay writing.
Activities:

Complete the handout “Essay writing – Academic style”

Class 9 (April 18th)
Objective: Networking.

Activities:
1- Speaking activities intended to promote networking and cohesion amongst the group members. Students interact and introduce themselves using academic vocabulary practised in the previous sessions.


Class 10 (April 23rd)
Objective: Learn how to write an introductory paragraph and body paragraphs.
Activities:
1- Complete the ‘English 5 essay intro thesis’ worksheet.
2- Complete the ‘English 5 essay body’ worksheet.

 

Class 11 (April 25th)
Objective: Learn how to write a concluding paragraph.
Activities:
1- Complete the ‘English 5 essay conclusion’.

Class 12 (May 7th)
Objective:

1- Read the ‘english_5_essay_evaluation_instructions_and_rubric’.
2- Complete the activities from the ‘proofreading’ presentation.

Class 13 (May 9th)
Objective: Edit and proofread texts.
Activities:
1- Complete the final activities from the ‘English_5_essay_proofing_editing’ worksheet.
2- Choose a thesis statement and write an outline for essay 1.

(May 14th) Class suspended due to strike and teacher’s medical absence.

Objective: Proofread essay 1 (before delivery date)

2- Proofreading activity: Proofread and improve your writing following the steps of proofreading from the handout 



Class 16 (May 28th)
Objective: Read and describe charts using present perfect and present perfect continuous.

Objective: Read and describe graphs and charts in English.

Class 18: (June 4)
Objective: Learn how to write about charts.

Class 19 (June 6th)
Objective: Talk about gender roles and stereotypes
