Dear Students,

For our lesson for today (sept. 5th.)

(1) We have already dealt with our second session working with the 'Elevator Speech' document

(1.1) In the ‘Elevator Speech’ PPT document [located in the 'Material Docente' section] you will find the framework of reference for constructing your Elevator Speech. Also, you will find its corresponding rubric.

(1.2) You will also find 5 examples from 5 different FACSO study programs that may help you as a starting point to construct your own Elevator Speech. This document is also located in the 'Material Docente' section

(2) Please remember, that you may upload your Elevator Speech video [.mp4 format, ideally] in the ‘Tareas’ Section. The last day for you to upload this document is next Thursday, Sept. 22nd.

(2.2) If you upload this document after this date, you will get a 5.0 as a top mark.

For our next lesson (Sept. 8th.)

(1) We will be working on our lesson that will be divided into two parts as we already know, (a) Linguistic (some grammatical structures in communicational contexts for the most part and autonomous work for all of the asynchronous evaluations) and (b) Communicative (video debates)

(1.1) For the second part of this next lesson, please, watch the following video (it contains English Subtitles),  ‘The Science of Early Childhood Development’, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLiP4b-TPCA

(2.1) Once you have watched it, please think about the following question:

(2.1.1) According to what Jack Shonkoff (Director for Harvard's 'Center of the Developing Child') has said, how would you interpret in your own words and under the view of your academic speciality the following statement: 'The brain is prepared to be shaped by experience’.

(2.2.2) With the information provided by the video comment on one point that you think is relevant. Provide two reasons for this relevance.

(3) We will also deal with our fourth [and final] session on the 'Elevator Speech' activity which will be focused on practising your oral performance.

In case of doubt, please do not hesitate to contact me back,

Best Regards
