Jordan Masias O. 22 Sep 202422/09/24 a las 20:59 hrs.2024-09-22 20:59:22 Class Summaries
Dear Students,
I hope you all had an amazing time celebrating the Fiestas Patrias!
In this email, I want to provide you with a recap of our recent sessions before the break. We focused on the topic of Getting Around, where we explored various activities that helped us review vocabulary related to transportation, housing, and functional language for giving and asking for directions. We also revisited key aspects of using the past tense in English, particularly in narrative construction.
Additionally, we covered important points regarding punctuation, capitalization, and the stylistic and functional elements of email writing, both formal and informal.
It was also decided that this week, on Wednesday 25-09, we will have the Writing Quiz 1 during class. I handed out a brief preparation worksheet for this activity, which we will review in our next session.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Looking forward to seeing you in class!
Best regards,
Prof. Jordán Masías Ortiz

Hi everyone,
I hope you're all doing well. Just a quick reminder that today's Scientific English 4 class will be held online, as requested by the University. I'll be creating a Virtual Class on U-Cursos, and around 14:30 h, you'll receive a link to join through U-Cursos. Please make sure to click on that link to access the class, as it’s how your attendance will be registered.
It would be great if you could use your microphone to interact during the class, but if that’s not possible, using the chat is totally fine. It would also help to have access to the internet for some reading and virtual activities.
If you’re unable to join due to any tech issues, please send me an email as soon as you can, so I can mark it down and it won’t affect your attendance.
Although the class won't be recorded, I’ll share all the materials in the “Material Docente” and “Enlaces” sections on U-Cursos.
Best,
Prof. Jordán Masías O.
