Dear all,
I hope you're doing well! Here's a quick recap of what we achieved during Week 11 (week 10 was the recess):
As planned in our course calendar, we successfully carried out the presentations for the Final Task of Unit 4. We used both lessons of the week to complete the first part of this important activity. Great job to everyone who presented — your preparation and effort truly showed!
As we discussed together, and considering the time available, we decided as a section to carry out the second part of the Unit 4 Final Task (the Peer Review writing) on Wednesday, June 4th.
Please remember to:
- Bring your Peer Review observation sheet with you.
 - Be on time, as we’ll dedicate the first 30 minutes of class to this writing activity. It’s an essential part of the task and your overall performance.

Let’s finish this unit strong — see you all on Wednesday!
Warm regards,
Prof. Jordán Masías O.

		Dear students,
During Week 9, just before the general recess, we completed the Midterm Test as planned. Well done!
In our second session, we focused on the topic of giving academic presentations. We explored the key Do’s and Don’ts of effective presentations and worked through a practical activity to help you organize and outline your own presentations.
We also coordinated the Final Task for Unit 4, which will begin on Wednesday, May 28.
NB: The order of presentations will follow the sign-up list from our last class. If you didn’t get the chance to sign up, please be ready to present on Wednesday.
Instructions for the presentation were sent by email and can also be found under Unit 4 in the Material Docente section on U-Cursos.
🔹 Reminder: This task has two parts –
- Your oral presentation
 - A written Peer Review of a classmate’s presentation

Here’s how next week will be organized:
- Wednesday’s session will start with a 45-minute Q&A and preparation time, followed by the first round of presentations (each limited to 45 minutes total).
 - Friday’s session (May 30) will include the remaining presentations and the Peer Review writing activity.

Wishing you all the best – you’ve got this!
Warm regards,
Prof. Jordán Masías O.

		I hope you’re doing well!
Last week, we completed the activities and content for Unit 1. Due to several factors, the Final Unit Task 1 has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 9th.
In the meantime, we’ve already moved on to Unit 2. All the class materials and Grammar Supplements are available on the platform, under the section “Material Docente.”
🔹 Next Friday’s class will focus on Unit 2, specifically Lessons 2 and 3, using a flipped classroom approach. This means class time will be used for speaking and communication practice, so it’s essential that you:
- Review the handouts, especially the readings,
- And come prepared with an idea of how to respond to the speaking activities.
Looking forward to a great session!
Warm regards,
Prof. Masías O.
