3. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
----------------------------------------------------
SMRT (Sawtooth Software's Suite of Marketing
Research Tools) is designed to run on Microsoft(R)
Windows(R) 95/98/ME/2000/XP operating systems. It can
also be run on Windows NT(TM) 4. However, you may
notice minor visual differences across platforms.

4. BEFORE YOU INSTALL
----------------------------------------------------
If SMRT 2.0 DEMONSTRATION version has previously
been installed, please UNINSTALL the program before
proceeding. (See the section titled UNINSTALL
in this document.) SMRT 3.0 Demonstration versions
and later need not be uninstalled.

5. INSTALL
----------------------------------------------------
Install this product by inserting the CD-ROM. For
most systems, the Setup program will start
automatically. If it does not click on START,
selecting SETTINGS, then CONTROL PANEL. Then
double-click ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. Click INSTALL,
then NEXT, then FINISH.

**NOTE**: You will need to input your license infor-
mation (your company name, licensed unit, and serial
#) into the software after the installation process.
Start SMRT then click on Help|About SMRT. You must
enter this information EXACTLY as printed, including
correct upper and lower case letters.

**NOTE**: SMRT is not compatible with Ci3 2.6.4 or
earlier. Ci3 2.6.5 or later is required to ensure that
the two software packages function properly. This is
a free upgrade to owners of Ci3 2.5 and later. Ci3 is
available on the CD-ROM in the Ci3 directory.

**NOTE**: Do not install SMRT in the same directory
as CBC version 1.x, ACA version 4.0 or earlier, or
CVA version 2.0 or earlier.

6. UNINSTALL
----------------------------------------------------
WARNING: Do NOT run the UNINSTALL program while
SMRT is running.

To UNINSTALL this product, go into Control Panel,
double-click the "Add/Remove Programs" icon, select
"Sawtooth Software SMRT" from the list of
installed applications, and press the
"Add/Remove..." button.

NOTE: The UNINSTALL application may give the
following message: "Uninstall completed. Some
elements could not be removed. You should manually
remove items related to the application." You may
click the "Details..." button to identify the items
that were not removed. This is normal if you have
added files to the directories created during the
setup process, or if you have deleted files that
were part of the initial installation. This message
is displayed if SMRT was running when UNINSTALL was
trying to remove it. After uninstall has run, the
only way to finish the UNINSTALL process is to
manually remove any remaining files, directories,
and other items.
