El Área de Idiomas de la Escuela de Ingeniería y Ciencias se complace en informarles que, a partir del año 2025, el Programa de inglés tendrá una modificación en todos sus niveles, desde el nivel básico al intermedio superior, con el fin de actualizar las temáticas y contenidos que estén acorde a las necesidades comunicativas de los y las estudiantes de la Facultad.  

Actualmente, nuestro Programa contempla 5 cursos (225 horas) que tributan a los siguientes niveles del Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas:

A partir de Otoño 2025, el Programa contemplará 5 cursos (225 horas) que tributarán a los siguientes niveles del Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas:

El cambio se fundamenta en los siguientes aspectos:

• Los resultados del TESTDI reflejan que cada vez menos estudiantes quedan situados en el nivel básico.
• Enfoque comunicativo, con mayor énfasis en el aspecto funcional y léxico.
• Aprendizaje en espiral más consolidado.
• Desarrollo del pensamiento crítico-reflexivo
• Mejora en los puntajes del TOEFL ITP, lo que conlleva una mayor participación en programas de intercambio y pasantías.

En consecuencia, se le insta al estudiantado que aún tiene cursos de inglés pendientes que los inscriba a partir de otoño 2024. Todas y todos los estudiantes que rindan el TESTDI el 2024, pasarán automáticamente al Programa nuevo de inglés.

Estimados y estimadas estudiantes de pregrado de la FCFM,

Con gran satisfacción, el Área de Idiomas de la Escuela de Ingeniería y Ciencias les invita a inscribirse en los siguientes cursos de inglés:

EI 4206 (English Pioneers)

EI 4207 (English Connections)

Ambos cursos están diseñados para practicar el idioma inglés luego de aprobar el inglés 5 (EI 4205) y la Suficiencia II y tributan al nivel B2+ del Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas.

Los cursos otorgan 3 CT y el requisito de asistencia es de un 75%.

El propósito principal del curso EI 4206 es comunicar experiencias, tanto del ámbito cotidiano, académico y profesional a un nivel discursivo avanzado, utilizando léxico y estructuras gramaticales complejas. La principal metodología activa utilizada en este curso corresponde al aprendizaje basado en proyectos que promueve, por un lado, el trabajo autónomo de los y las estudiantes como agentes activos de su proceso de aprendizaje y, por otro, el constante monitoreo del docente, cuyo rol es el de mediador/a que guía el aprendizaje a través del desarrollo de las habilidades de trabajo colaborativo, comunicación colaborativa y estratégica.

Como parte de los productos trabajados se encuentran: la realización de pósteres, podcasts y pitch.

El propósito principal del curso EI 4207 es facilitar la interacción y comunicación de opiniones por parte de los y las estudiantes en contextos sociales, académicos y profesionales a un nivel discursivo avanzado. El curso se enfoca en capacitar a los y las estudiantes para participar en presentaciones, debates y paneles de discusión tanto formales como informales, abordando temas como: medio ambiente, tecnología e innovación, interculturalidad y emprendimiento. Se desarrollan las habilidades de comprensión, expresión e interacción oral.  

El enfoque pedagógico del curso se caracteriza por su naturaleza activa y participativa, donde los y las estudiantes desempeñan roles fundamentales como agentes interactivos y reflexivos en el contexto del idioma inglés.

La invitación, entonces, es a potenciar tu dominio del inglés de manera dinámica y efectiva en un entorno educativo que promueve el desarrollo de competencias comunicativas y la aplicación práctica a través de significativos proyectos y experiencias de aprendizaje colaborativo y constructivista. ¡Te esperamos!
