  1. June 30 – Practice session for the Final Oral Test

  2. July 1 – Practice session for the Final Written Test

  3. July 7Final Oral Test

  4. July 8 – Final Written Test

Guidelines for next lessons

Dear Students,

For previous weeks' lessons (June 16th & 17th)

(1) We have already worked on our Unit 5, Final Unit Task

For the following lessons (June 23rd & 24th)

(1) We will be working on both of our lessons, which will be divided into two parts, as we already know: 

(1.1) The following Monday and Tuesday lessons  (#29 & #30) will work on Unit 6, Lesson 1, 2 & 3

(1.1.1) Unit 6 overview:

• Making research questions
• Abstract structure
• Understanding bibliography format
• Presenting results in a paragraph

(1.1.1.1) Lessons will be composed roughly of:

(1.1.1.1.1) Unit 6, Lesson 1: Identify and correctly form open and closed questions, (b) Understand the purpose and structure of basic research questions, (c) Write basic research questions, (d) Notice the organisation and punctuation in different citation styles

(1.1.1.1.2) Unit 6, Lesson 2:
(a) Understand the purpose of an abstract, (b) Identify and describe the main components of an abstract, (c) Recognise and use common linking words and phrases to create cohesion within an abstract

(1.1.1.1.3) Unit 6, Lesson 3:
(a) Improve a questionnaire, (b) Understand what types of questions to use in a questionnaire, (c) Consider the relation between university education and future work expectations, (d) Use the correct expressions to talk about surveys and questionnaires

As the title suggests, lessons for today and tomorrow [May 12th. & 13th.]  will be carried out under the synchronous format; this means the following: 

(1) Lessons will start, as usual, at 12:00 pm

(2) 15 minutes before the synchronous (online) lesson starts [11:45 am], please log to ‘u-cursos’ (‘Clase Virtual’ section) and connect to the lesson from there

(3) Once this lesson is finished, I will upload the teaching material (a PPT file and an audio file), if required.

• Describing job characteristics and skills
• Talking about hopes and ambitions
• Making predictions & expressing possibility
• Writing an email to request information
• Working with CVs and discussing the best candidates for a job
• Using future tenses, real conditionals, and modals

(1.1.1.1) Lessons will be composed roughly of:

(1.1.1.1.1) Unit 5, Lesson 1: 
(a) Express hopes and preferences, (b) Use information to make decisions, (c) Understand a spoken message, (d) Understand job offers

(1.1.1.1.2) Unit 5, Lesson 2:
